My Comments

Step 1

KCQs

I enjoyed reading your KCQs in Step one. They are written in a personal tone, and I found them easy to follow and engaging. I particularly enjoyed what you included in your introduction and conclusion as it was easy to follow your journey through the content. Furthermore, I enjoyed reading about your personal experiences as an area manager for MacDonalds and how that connected with confidence and learning. Overall, I think this area is well written, reflective and engaging.

Step 2

Your blog was easy to navigate to and the layout is appealing to view and easy to navigate. Moving through the blog, I can see you have added an introductory post and an about me section. I enjoyed reading your dilemma with the different blog sites as I also experienced something similar before choosing Wix. Additionally, a picture is included of yourself and your cat. However, I was unable to view your Moodle profile, so I am unsure how that is set up. At this stage, it is unclear whether this is an issue on my system or a setting in Moodle.

Step 3

Reading your Step 3 I can see you have put much time into getting to know your company. I found the section including the risks of cash flow, geopolitical tensions and climate change we written and easy to follow. You have provided links and a video explaining how Galliford Try are mitigating those risks. While you are off to a great start with your blog, it seems there may be some parts of Step 3 need to be included, such as using Studiosity (if you tried it) and your top three favourite blogs.

Overall, this is a strong draft, and I look forward to seeing how it progresses from here

Overall ASS#1

Overall, I felt your KCQs were strong and well-written, with links to your personal experiences that made them relatable. Furthermore, I feel I can clearly understand your journey in Step 1 with the inclusion of your introduction and conclusion. Additionally, your blog is laid out well and easy to navigate, but I was not able to view the Moodle profile. Moreover, step 3 made me feel you have a strong understanding of Gillford Try’s history, strategies, challenges and risk mitigation plans. In summary, I feel this is a strong start and I look forward to seeing the completed blog.

My Comments

Step 1 KCQs

Your KCQs are well-written and thoughtful. I enjoyed reading about your personal experiences with your clothing brand, high school and purchasing items online. I felt that your reflections linked well with the concepts you chose and I feel your journey can easily be followed in your writing. The only thing I could suggest is making some minor formatting changes to better separate the different KCQs. However, this is nitpicky.

Step 2

Your blog page is set up well and easy to navigate; I can find all the relevant information easily. Your blog link on the draft post worked perfectly. I noticed you have written an about me section which makes your blog feel more personal. Additionally, I noticed you have added an introductory statement in your Moodle profile. However, I noticed there are no photos on your Moodle profile or blog. Furthermore, there is no link to your blog on your Moodle profile.

Step 3

Step 3 is very in depth, and I feel you have spent alot time getting to know your company. I felt that step 3 was well written, and the structure was easy to follow. Additionally, it appears you have answered all elements of the task. Something I found interesting was the inclusion of the video of the CEO discussing the use of robotics to increase efficiency. Furthermore, I can see you had added your top three blogs and I enjoyed reading why they were your favourites.

Overall, I felt this step was well written, researched and presented.

Step 4

At this stage, I cannot seem to find where your financial statements are uploaded. However, I noticed you have received feedback on this step, so, this might be a problem on my end.

Input company’s financial statements

Step 5

I enjoyed reading your step five KCQs. Similar to your step 1, they are well-written and reflective. I particularly enjoyed the analogy that compared parents and subsidiaries to teams and players. Furthermore, I also felt your final KCQ was very strong, and I appreciated your anecdote linking your workplace's plan to repay debt to the ideas of trust and relationships within business.

Similarly to step one, some minor formatting here would make your blog easier to read.

Step 6

Overall ASS#1

Overall, I feel your draft is quite strong. I feel you have thought deeply about your KCQs and I enjoyed reading about your personal experiences within step one and five. Additionally, I felt that step three was researched well and presented clearly. It was easy to see how much effort has gone into this assessment.

The only areas of improvement I could suggest would be adding some photos to your Moodle and blog and, formatting step one and three. However, these are nitpicky and overall I feel your draft is very strong currently.

My Comments

Step 1

KCQs

While reading through the first step, I connected easily to your KCQs.I enjoyed reading your personal reflections on your past experiences with education and your family business. Your KCQs are formatted well, and I found them easy to read. I felt that it was easy to understand where you were at the beginning your journey.

Step 2

I appreciated the clean design of your blog, and it was easy to find your assignment one draft from the link you posted on the draft forum. Additionally, I can see you have posted an about me post on your blog. However, I was unable to access your Moodle profile, but this may be an issue on my end. Furthermore, I can see there is no photo on your blog.

Step 3

At this stage, I feel step three has started strong as you have included the KCQs related to the annual reports, some background information on your company and risks that your company is facing. However, I feel I could gain a better understanding from your draft once the dot points have been fleshed out a little more. Additionally, I cannot see where you used Studiosity (if you have) or what your favourite blogs were.

Step 4

Viewing your company spreadsheet, I feel it is quite strong as all the elements have been included. The only things I can suggest is inserting your company name and adding what the balance date is for your company. Overall, I feel that this area is quite strong.

Input company’s financial statements

Step 5

I felt the KCQs in this section were strong and I enjoyed reading about your background in your family’s business. I enjoyed seeing how you have taken the concepts from the readings and linked them to your business background. Overall, it was an interesting read.

Step 6

Individual feedback with others

N/A at this stage.

Overall ASS#1

Overall, I think this is a strong start. Step one was easy to follow and gave me a clear sense of how and where your journey began. Additionally, I liked the clean setup of your blog as it was simple to navigate and find your draft. I feel that step three has a strong start and shows the research you have done on your company. Similarly, steps four and five appear strong, with only some minor adjustments needed for your spreadsheet.

The only suggestions I could make would be to add a photo to your blog and expand slightly more on step three. Otherwise, your draft looks good and I am excited to see it again in the future.

Feedback Comments

As a part of Step 6, I was lucky enough to have received feedback from three different students on my draft; this was more than I expected, so I feel fortunate to have received so much feedback. Generally, the feedback I received was positive, and I felt a sense of relief as occasionally I was unsure if I was on the right track with the assessment. Something that was mentioned by all three students was the absence of my Excel spreadsheet. This was helpful to me as I completely forgot to upload it, and likely I would have forgotten it on my final submission. However, I would have appreciated some feedback on the sections I provided, highlighting areas I could have improved on, particularly step 3; but this may have been my fault, as I did not clearly state in my post that I was seeking specific feedback. Overall, I felt that receiving feedback from my classmates was useful, as I felt that I would have missed my error in not uploading Step 4 without it. I also realised that if I am looking for specific feedback, I should ask for it.
